Root Cause

Description:

      In this survival horror, you play as Professor Jonathan Greyson, an expert in botany who has been called in by the government to explore an abandoned building that has been effecting the locals in strange ways through an unknown plant sprouting through the building. As you travel inside, you will discover the dark secrets of this old building and the older evil that lays dormant within. 

      As the player, you will embark on a harrowing journey into the heart of a quarantined apartment building, where a haunting disease has unleashed unimaginable horrors upon the unsuspecting residents. As Professor Greyson, players must navigate treacherous corridors, solve cryptic puzzles, piece together clues from old residents (and new) and confront that which waits in the shadows. Armed with nothing more than their wits, a flashlight and a pistol, players must unravel the mystery behind the residents, find the cause of the building's ruin, and prevent it from spreading to the rest of the world.

(This project was made for the BuddyUp Game Jam with the theme of "Renewal", if you enjoy this short experience then please let us know and we may develop this into a longer game with boss fights, additional enemies, more guns,  more story and a complete graphical overhaul)
